Junior accounts

We offer savings accounts for your children or grandchildren below the age of 16 from as little as £1 per week.

Share to Share facilities are available, eg, deposit £1 or an amount of your choice from your current payroll deduction or standing order instruction to the Credit Union and the Junior Savings will be transferred to the Junior Saver’s account monthly. Contact the Credit Union office for further information.

Interest is paid annually on all junior savings. The interest rate is the same as the dividend rate paid to adult savers. Past rates paid are available here.

It easy to apply – just complete the application form and return this together with a copy of the birth certificate to the Credit Union office.

Smartcash Junior Debit Card

• The Smartcash debit card works just like an account from a high street bank but is only available from your Engage accredited credit union. It is an ethical prepaid account with a number of great features:

• Helps teach children how to manage money and budget

• Minimum £10 load, maximum £50 ATM withdrawal and maximum £500 card balance
